Resident of the Quarter

As physicians, and particularly as
pediatricians, we often find ourselves
scratching our heads, scowling in
thought, and asking, “How can I
help?” We may be pondering this
on an individual level, like when our
patient can not afford their medicine
(that their insurance refuses to cover).
Alternatively, we may be considering
this question on a national level- for

combination of sarcasm and panic,
“being a resident is way too easy, as
it is. What we need are some more
requirements and less free time.”
Despite our initial trepidation and
concern, however, our director
held firm her ground. “We need
something that sets us apart,” she
said.
